Reporting to the IT Manager and the Chief Technology Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for all software development and automated data processing carried out within the firm.
The general responsibilities of the successful candidate will include:
*Business Analysis: Engaging with key stakeholders across the firm to understand their business needs and to design appropriate software and data-driven solutions to meet those needs in line with the IT strategy
*Scoping, development and testing of C# .Net solutions: Engaging with the COT, IT Manager and internal business clients to scope projects, propose solutions and develop and test software
*Project management: Managing and delivering development projects to a very high standard, within agreed timescales and producing suitable associated documentation and Management Information
*Database design: Designing and working with SQL databases
*Data enquiries: Providing data from a variety of systems on request
*Data privacy and security: Ensuring that data privacy and security are considered at every stage when designing, developing and implementing solutions in order to protect company systems and client data in line with applicable regulations and best practice
The ideal candidate will be degree educated and have at least 3-5 years of C# .Net development experience, preferably within a small team and a data-driven environment. There will be an initial project to review and convert an existing set of processes that have been written in Python. Knowledge of Python is not a requirement although previous exposure would be useful.
The role requires an individual who is able to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment, while also being flexible, proactive and resourceful. A high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role. Expert written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail are equally important.
Specific duties and responsibilities for this role will include:
*Delivery of suitable, compliant and reliable solutions and services to the business in line with all applicable regulations
*Providing a first-class client experience, both internally and externally
*Supervision and professional development of an existing member of the development team
*Preparing and presenting comprehensive business case proposals to management
*Ensuring that suitable documentation exists for all development solutions, processes and procedures
*Handover and support of solutions to relevant teams across the business
*Appropriate training of other IT team members and internal clients
Required technical skills & experience:
*3-5 years of C# .Net development in a Microsoft environment
*Microsoft SQL Server database design and use (2008/2012/2014)
*Microsoft Visual Studio Team Services (C# .Net)
Desirable technical skills & experience:
*Microsoft Dynamics (CRM) including customisation and data extraction
*Implementation of solutions via Microsoft Azure
*Microsoft Office 365 integration (including SharePoint)
*Crystal Reports, Microsoft Power BI Desktop
General skills required for the role:
