Database Analyst (DBA) - SQL server, Oracle

Location: Hatfield
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

A market leading infrastructure services organisation is looking for a Database Analyst to be responsible for the implementation, configuration maintenance and performance of SQL Server systems. Ideal candidates will have excellent SQL Server skills and a good working knowledge of Oracle.

Key responsibilities:

*Administration of production SQL Server database infrastructure in a production environment.
*Providing 2nd/3rd line support for the SQL Server and Oracle environments.
*Managing/monitoring the capacity/performance of SQL Server/Oracle databases.
*Developing a standard approach and set of processes for SQL Server installs, configuration, backup etc and standardising our current SQL Server estate in accordance with them.
*Proactively improving monitoring, maintenance, automation and processes.
*Participating and contributing to service and operational improvement programmes

Key skills and qualifications:

*Educated to degree level or equivalent in computing related subject.
*Experience of IT service management disciplines based on ITIL or similar, ideally with a qualification in this area.
*Excellent experience of managing SQL Server in a production environment, including performance tuning, backup & recovery.
*Knowledge and reasonable production experience of Oracle database administration.
*Cloud computing (preferably AWS) experience.
*Experience of IT service management disciplines based on ITIL or similar.
