Desktop Support Engineer (Banking)
£30-000 - £35,000 plus benefits including 24 days bank holidays, pension, training opportunities and more

Please note the working hours for this role are shifts between 7am-7pm (7.30am-4pm/10am - 6.30pm) Monday to Friday

The Role

As a Desktop Support Engineer working for a leading IT provider, you will be responsible for providing 1st/2nd line support to multiple clients, mainly within the financial services industry.

This role would suit a confident engineer that has previously worked for an IT outsourced/MSP company with banking/finance experience. Applicants working directly in these areas will also be considered. You will be based on customer site and will be responsible for carrying out onsite work therefore you strong customer facing and prioritisation skills are a must.

This Desktop Support Engineer will be working in a team and will be involved in the following:

*Supporting clients as a 1st/2nd line engineer remotely and on customer site
*Microsoft Office support
*Hardware/software upgrades/installs
*Managing system installations
*Providing high levels of customer satisfaction, ensuring all KPI's and SLA's are achieved
*Handling service requests and incidents in a timely manner
*Coordinate with third parties for support, installation and maintenance
*Liaise with 3rd line Engineers when needed

The Requirements

As a Desktop Support Engineer you will have the following experience:
*Previous outsourced/managed services experience ideally within banking/financial services
*Windows 7/10 including installation, configuration and support
*Windows Server 2008 onwards including logging onto, setting up new users
*Active Directory - creating distribution groups
*All versions of Microsoft Office including 2007/2010
*Mobile devices including Blackberry, Apple products and mobile devices
Remote connectivity tools such as Citrix Go To Assistant, RDP and Dameware

*Market Data applications including Bloomberg, Factset, Fidessa and Eikon
*Understanding of ITIL framework and related processes
*Remote connectivity tools such as Dameware, Citrix Go To Assist and RDP
*Any certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, MCP or ITIL are also highly advantageous.

You will be customer facing, be able to take ownership of problems and investigate issues. You will be an excellent communicator both verbally and written and will be looking for an opportunity where you can progress with the business.
