The Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) team in Basingstoke need additional support to for a number of new projects both legacy and new design. Most are Computer Information Systems with a Supply Support (logistic) activity. The required main ILS activities include AR&M, Obsolescence, LIR development and Technical Publications.
The team requires an ILS Engineer with strong experience in working with design teams to ensure ILS elements are built into the design. The role will be based out of Corsham working directly with the customer engineering team, so strong maintainability skills will be required. The role will then continue during the operational phase maintaining the customer deliverables.
They will report to the Fujitsu Lead ILSM in Basingstoke and will need to travel to Basingstoke for 1-day most weeks. The role may develop as and when new projects arise.
Their main aspects of the role will be to assist the team to:
*Advise on the applicability and translation of supportability requirements to other team activities
*Work across the ILS disciplines to ensure AR&M influences the support solutions and products being evolved
*Production of the LIR for the system using the business database
*Analysis and reporting
*Maintaining configuration management of ILS tools
*Production of the Obsolescence Management Log
*Conduct a full range of AR&M activities (FMECA, LORA etc)
*Spares modelling
Justification:
Transition and enduring role for contractor/perm based in Basingstoke with visits to customer site (Corsham)
Mandatory Skills
*UK Security Clearance
*In-depth knowledge of Def Stan 00-600
*In-depth knowledge of Defence Logistics Framework (was JSP 886)
*Good working knowledge and experience of Availability, Reliability and Maintainability
*Experience with ARM analysis tools and techniques
*Excellent communication skills to liaise and build relationships with a variety of project stakeholders. You must also be logical in your approach and have strong problem solving skills
*Full Driving Licence
*Spares ranging and scaling
Desirable Skills
*ILS/Obsolescence training/qualifications
*Awareness or experience of IT systems
*Any experience of Operational, Command or Battlespace information systems or applications in the C2 or C4ISR space
*Experience of Project Transition from MoD environment.
