IT Project Manager, London, Retail sector

My client develops market leading retail software covering POS, store tablets (clienteling, click and collect, dispatch from store, assisted selling, store operations), ecommerce, order management, merchandising, master data management, MIS, stock and price optimisation, warehouse and supplier integration.

In addition to being a software house, They also are a systems integrator, implementing their own solutions to clients varying in size

As part of their expansion plans we are looking for an experienced Project Manager who will take on the leadership and management of key client projects. The candidate must be able to manage concurrent projects varying in size and type.

The role is based in London and the successful candidate must be prepared to work in London 5 days a week although client projects may take place outside of London and so stays away from home will be required from time to time. .

Key responsibilities & tasks:

*Develop a deep understand of the agreed functional solution for the client such that the PM becomes the most knowledgeable person in this area. This will require expertise and leadership in products and the clients specific requirements
*Manage the full lifecycle of delivery through to hyper care and hand over to support
*Work with the client to support them in integration and user acceptance testing. This will require a detailed understanding of the delivered solution such that questions can be answered without needing to refer to other members of the team
*Management of the delivery team including development of any custom requirements
*Work with the product team to ensure the product is used effectively and to ensure any product enhancements are delivered to the client's requirements and on time
*Production and tracking of a detailed project plan
*Management of client accountabilities and any impacts from the client's performance
*Tracking of resources to ensure on budget delivery
*Manage the day to day relationship with this client and attend all key meetings
*Manage issues and risks effectively
*Be responsible for Change and Configuration Management
*Work with the account manager to ensure commercial aspects of the project are managed effectively

Experience required:

*At least 5 years' experience of managing retail IT projects
*Experienced in retail systems and omni-channel technology including knowledge of best practice use of software packages
*Experience of working supplier side to retail clients. The ideal candidate will also have worked directly for a retailer
*Knowledge of retail processes, ideally covering stores, multi-channel and merchandising.
*Experience of managing development teams
*Ran concurrent projects varying in size and type
