Job Description

IT Solutions Manager, £60k-£70k base,

The IT Solution's Manager is responsible for the solution delivery, architecture and design, deployments and operational performance of a global single instance of Salesforce.com with about 2500 users around the world.

The job holder is responsible for the strategic direction of an integrated global solution in conjunction with the IT Business Partnership group.

The IT Solution's Manager will be responsible for leading a team of System Administrators and Developers.

This is an exciting role for someone with a strong background in the management of a Salesforce.com environment and an interesting development opportunity for a business minded IT Professional

Strategy & Planning

oReview and analyse existing and potentially new business solutions for effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving, leveraging or replacing existing systems or applications.
oPromote seamless product integration across all IT products to minimize multiple data entry, improve data accuracy and maximize positive user experience.
oConsult and involve other IT functions to develop successful deployment, support and service.
oEnsure that applications meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfil end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
oCultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-usage best practices.

Program Management

oReview business case and justification supporting the effort and investment in implementing and deploying IT business solutions. These documents will be developed with the IT Business Partnership group.
oPrepare the business for new, modified and updated IT business solutions.
oCoordinate feasibility studies for software and system products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.
oEvaluate, configure, and deploy selected new products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
oEnsure that any new software integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
oDefine, re-design and document the new business processes either stemming from the business requirements and the capabilities of the new IT systems capabilities.
oSupport IT solutions roll-out and user adoption in regional organization and business functions
oManage a business solution team of administrators, developers and key users. The responsibility of the team is to support & develop the SalesForce.com platform.

Operational Support

oProvide direction for the support organization and ensure the support is in line with the business expectation.
oNegotiate support contracts with software and service providers and manage license and asset inventory.
oDevelop and communicate training and documentation for support organization and end users.
oImprove product performance based on feedback received for business functions, users groups, service reports and regular product meetings within the IT organization.
oEnsures business continuity plans and procedures are developed properly to support continuing operations in disaster situations. Maintains back up conditions, recovery and on-going operation for the company and conducts regular testing.
oPrepare for and manage IT product obsolescence
Position Requirements
oApplicants will be university educated and have relevant technical knowledge in computer systems design or computer science.
oExperience developing and deploying mobile Apps.
oDirect experience managing business applications and/or systems management.
oProven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of software solutions.
oStrong knowledge of packaged systems and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
oProven experience with mainstream systems
oGood program management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures.
oExcellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
oKnowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
oMedical device experience a plus, not required,
oITIL certification

Travel expectations

o There is some requirement to travel. There will be a need to work extensively with IT colleagues including, but not limited to, UK, Poland, Sweden, Hong Kong and US.
