As a Network Engineer you will be part of a technical team and will be responsible for providing customer support and installing new services.
On a day to day basis, you'll be configuring, installing and supporting the network which is mainly Cisco based therefore experience of this is ideal. Cisco certifications such as CCNA are a minimum, if you're studying towards CCNP or have a CCNP this is beneficial.
Experience from a MSP/ISP/Telecoms/Reseller company is preferred although not essential.
As a Network Engineer you will be responsible for:
*Configuration, installation and support of the network
*Installing equipment at customer or data centres (London based).
*Change requests, ensuring that SLAS are being achieved
*Providing technical support to customers
*Getting sign off from customers once installations are complete
As a Network Engineer you'll ideally have a background in MSP/ISP/Telecommunications environment with previous experience working on a Cisco based network. The company also use Juniper firewalls (SSG/SRX) so any experience with this equipment is great however isn't essential as training will be given.
You'll be CCNA certified (ideally studying towards CCNP) and will have at least 12 months hands on experience with networking including configuration and troubleshooting. You'll be confident with BGP and will have hands on configuration experience of OSPF. Any exposure to MPLS is desirable.
This role may suit an Engineer looking to move into a more specialised role and has in interest in working cutting edge technologies such as Juniper. If you're a CCNA (or CCNP/working towards CCNP) Cisco Engineer and are interested in learning Juniper this is an ideal opportunity for you. Any Juniper certifications such as JNCIA are desirable.
